Dear All,

I have windows as server (2 NIC - XP Home ) and Linux as client (1 NIC - CentOS
5.2). They are connected with cross-over cable (Home Setup). Both computer can
ping each other on Local NIC.

Linux can connect to internet if directly attach to modem.

But if I change network properties on Linux ( it's IP, default dateway to
windows local nic and BOOTPROTO to static) then I cannot connect to internet
(but can ping windows).

Even I installed Free proxy on windows and changed connection propoerties in
Firefox on linux but no affect.

I didnt changed  /etc/hosts and /etc/resolve.conf.

Please let me know what is missing on linux box to enable this feature.

I will be very thankful to you.

Santosh Kumar Dubey

PS:

I want this setup for faster internet access and running servers like apache on
linux. My machines are old so graphical linux is slow but windows is ok.
