Dear Sir/Madam,

This is in continuation to the email communication by Mr. Raj Mathur
about problems with http://www.mcdpropertytax.in/ .
The website is part of the e-governance activities which facilitate
ease of use and gives transparency to the users.

The National Knowledge Commission (NKC) has recommended use of Open
Source in e-governance.

Here is the text from the recommendations for your reference.

7. Open Source Software —Because of the enormous size and scope of the
e-governance effort
in India and because of the availability of globally recognised
software talent of Indians, we
must actively encourage wherever possible open source software
implementations and open
standards. This will allow us to have cost-effective solutions and
help develop open software
products and standards. It will also help improve scaling up as
well as minimize delays
   caused by repeat tendering.

The document is available on the NKC website and you can download it
from this link:

According to the recommendations, you are requested to change the
website to open source technologies and use open standards which you
are not using currently.

Yours Sincerely,
Sudhanwa Jogalekar
