Whole of Firefox did not fail to satisfy Debian Free Software
Guidelines (DFSG), but only the logos. In order to use the name
Firefox, which is a trademark of Mozilla corporation, one of the
condition to use the trademark is to include the logo (other
conditions included approval of patches by Mozilla before
distribution). Debian had a choice,

a) Accept the conditions - which is not really a choice as it would
not satisfy DFSG
b) Move Firefox to non-free section - not a best one
c) Let go of the trademark - which they chose

and they called it Ice Weasel
