Hi all, I have Ubuntu 8.10 running on an HP Mininote PC. Yesterday I noticed that the keys "double-mapped" to the numpad keys were not functioning properly. For example - 'P' usually turns into '*' while the function key is pressed but now pressing 'P' would echo '*' whether the function key is pressed or not. I rebooted the system multiple times to no avail and after struggling with it for about an hour, when I was just about to give up, everything started working as normal! Now I cannot reproduce the problem.. What do you guys think? Could it be an Ubuntu thing or should I get the hardware checked?
