I would suggest to stick with LTS if you are deploying Ubuntu on several 
systems akin to a small enterprise.

LTS in Ubuntu 8.04 LTS stands for Long Term Support. See Ubuntu's web 
site for details.  There are point releases eg. 8.04.1 to support newer 
hardware.  LTS is targeted towards enterprise deployments that need 
support for 3 or more years.

IIRC, the other releases provide support for 24 months.
