HI all,

I am struggling to get reliance datacard (EC121) to work with Ubuntu. I have worked with older reliance cards before (EC325, silver color one) and have had no issues with it. for those I used to coonect through Gnome-ppp and make required changes in wvdial.conf and that was sufficient to get EC325 working. BUt now when I tried same steps with new reliance card (EC121) first of all modem is not getting recognized by the system.

when I try wvdial conf gives me following

le...@leena-laptop:~$ wvdial conf
--> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.60
--> Warning: section [Dialer conf] does not exist in wvdial.conf.
--> Cannot open /dev/modem: No such file or directory
--> Cannot open /dev/modem: No such file or directory
--> Cannot open /dev/modem: No such file or directory

and lsusb is able to detect product & version etc.
le...@leena-laptop:~$ lsusb
