[...] In my opinion, the above offers Hariharan far too much of a cop-out, and he himself tries to absolve himself of part of the responsibility by saying that he did not know how this happened. While I quite believe that he might not be aware of of how exactly it happened, it is clear that he, or possibly someone else with access to his account, (a) signed up on the scummy, unethical, spamming site, and (b) exposed his mail addresses to them. In my opinion, the resulting spam messages to the list are grounds for the action being taken, and I still think that it should result in automatic moderation on this list. Intended or not, such an act should have consequences for the poster.
