You might want to try C64 8x8 bitmap fonts with pico, although it will make the display effectively 32x8, still good for 8 lines. If you want to go still larger, C64 font editors are freely available on net, just enlarge the 8x8 to 16x16 (iirc it has to be a multiple of 8).
