But you can add resultant work into your copyrighted book and you just need to include a exception that - section x.y is relased under NPDL and rest of the book is copyrighted. This is basically for content. content (text/image) and software are different. Different mean, in software we have two layer , source code & Application itself. But in content there is nothing called source code. What you is the the source itself. Even if somebody reused your content for profit and he released under NPDL then a villager will be able to take photocopy of that section without any legal trouble. Ofcouse he cannot reuse or scan rest of the book because it was a copyrighted by publisher. License never need any approval. You can create your own license too.
