o Job description
* We are currently involved in projects involving Django,
Drupal, Apache Solr, and system administration work
for some large-scale sites. The major part of your time
will go into operational work on one or more of these
projects. You will also be expected to work with us, and
our clients, in continually improving the value delivered
by these projects.
* Some portion of your time can be devoted to other
projects, with open-source ones being encouraged.
o Skills
* Required:
- Experience with at least one of Django, Drupal, and
Apache Solr
- Capability to quickly pick up and use new technology,
e..g, rapidly evaluating and integrating modules in the
context of Drupal, or Django applications for a Django
site.
- Flexibility in working on various parts of a project,
e.g., being able to handle small Javascript/CSS issues.
* Highly recommended:
- Multiple skill-sets: More than one of the required skills,
as well as basic ability in Javascript/jQuery, and CSS
- Familiarity with Python
- Experience in writing unit and functional tests
- Basic project management skills: Source-code versioning,
ticketing
* Desirable
- Demonstrable work on open-source projects
- Knowledge of open-source databases, and alternative modes
of data storage
- Experience in scaleable sites, especially on a cloud-computing
infrastructure
- Experience in business intelligence suites: Pentaho
- Experience in other modern frameworks, e.g., RoR.
- Experience in other e-commerce platforms: Magento, Uberkart,
etc.
