Hello All: I currently have several terabytes of data mostly music and video and offcourse application data sitting of several 500 GB and 1 TB external USB hard drives. I am always terrified of losing my music collection and hate the idea of copying hard drives as it takes 15 hours to back up the hard drives.
I have decided to bite the bullet and build a NAS where hard drives back themselves up and can be swapped. Does anyone have any experience building one and are there any recommendations regarding components that are available in India? I prefer not to buy one as it costs over Rs. 45k and given that 1 TB harddrive costs about 3.5K I feel that I should be able to build one at the fraction of the cost, and offcourse learn from the experience. Thanks -- Best regards, arjuna www.brahmaforces.com www.arjunasart.com _______________________________________________ Ilugd mailing list [email protected] http://frodo.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd
