I'm using Traffic Counter, which is free (only as in free beer, unfortunately), and the base version shows you traffic by application. The primary objective was to figure out which built-in Android applications were talking to the 'net behind my back (yes, it's terrible to be paranoid but if /they/ were after you, you'd be paranoid too!) Have found only one so far: SIM Toolkit. Time to root the phone and uninstall the cr*p, I guess.
