Yes, he is re-inventing the wheel; you confirmed it and that too using
wrong or bloated interpreter and dependencies.

Everyone is free to waste or consume her/his time in learning and, or
experimenting with coding anything, but sharing imperfect tools and, or
flooding the Internet with countless alternatives and, or distributions
is definitely a wastage of others time and freely available resources :(
