I am new here. Programmer. Good site, guys!
I have a question :
In a sh script, I want to capture the output printed
to the error stream.
gcc with NeXT PDO does that on my box.
I want to capture version number out of gcc. I tried
gcc -v |& awk '{ print $3}', won't work under sh,
works with csh. Any clues for /bin/sh ? Anybody ?
