Subject: [ilugd]: Router leaky bucket algorithm
Hi,
I want to use my RHL 6.2 or 7.3 (any of the two) as a router with two lan cards.
I want that each internal client ( with one IP) should be able to use only x kbps of IP bandwith.
From my networking books, I read that such algorithm is called Leaky bucket algorithm if we allow one line to use an average of x kbps of ip bandwidth.

From the Linux Howtos I could only find info on how to use squid for this purpose i.e. by use of delay pools. However squid can only be used for HTTP or FTP traffice, while I want to have the effect for complete traffic.
---->>u can manage traffic for any channel , u can also manage the restrictions on particular sites through delay pools
Please suggest.
Thanks
