RTF was chosen since it's easily creatable by everyone, whether on
Windows, Linux or another platform. The idea behind using RTF was to
enable students to use familiar tools for creating the content. The
site will also accept SGML content, hope that satisfies you :)

Is JPEG still free of all patents? Apart from that, is there any
specific advantage to using JPEG over PNG? If not, let's stick to
PNG.

    Ambar> What exactly is Knoppix??

Knoppix is a live Linux CD based on Debian that contains the most
wonderful collection of Linux utilities, commands and games that I've
seen. Though it's based on Debian, it's heavily modified to do
auto-detection of most hardware and has a great user interface. Keep
a Knoppix CD in your pocket, and voila! you have instant Linux
wherever you go!

Ambar> software? Or who get the source material. IMHO if we

The reason we decided this was that there are too many CD copying
requests coming in, and they are a drain on peoples' time and energy.
This doesn't stop anyone from making free copies for friends, or even
giving an alternative free service.

IAC the amount is pretty nominal, and I personally would be making
CD's for people I know for free in any case. The money is for those
cases when a total stranger walks up to you and demands a CD.

Hope that clarifies things,
