hi all,
Linux quick migration team(LQMT) is not at all to start
a new mailing list in fact this is to be seen as LAP's
extension to the real world.this as i see of it is to help
people provide an alternative.

Dhruv, it is not going to start a new project on the
lines of the LAP project ,but instead what it does is
adress the issue of using "GNU/Linux" in organizations
and corporate offices and providing them support.
therefore both LAP and LQMT are adressing the issue of
free software but in different domains.there are already many
people on the ilug-delhi list who work as consultant or
freelancers and many more who are newbie(or want to move onto "GNU/Linux")
and are just starting out ,this is to consolidate
and look at the avenues so that these two work togather in a manner so
that they are working towards popularizing "GNU/Linux".

following are the broad guidelines on which the group has to work

this is an effort to make the LQMT a living entity where in
the team member goes to the people analyses there requirement and
works out ways to solve the problems with the help of team and others.
but this is not free!, as in terms of people who work for it
need money for effort they put in.therfore this is going to take on
minimum operational charges. all the work and development will be for
the open source software where in any body could look into the code ,
change it etc.(analysis could be done free though, charges if solution
proposed by the member is incorporated.50% of the money goes to LQMT).

we could get the development of customized solutions
done through the large no of people who are passing out of our
technical institutes.this could give vent to there technical
creativity.this is what i think is in Trevor's minds.

the money that we generate is to be used to solidify the basis
of promoting free software.the accounting is to be kept open to
all the members of the group.

each and every member of the group is at the same level and it should
be a completely flat structure organization.

the group member could have different resposiblities based on there capacity
any one is free to alter this manifesto with consent of the majority of
group members.

all the members should meet once in a month.

if an individual\team is given or takes up a project it's there responsiblity
to finish it . we are to support them.

it would be good have people with good experience in dealing with corporates
and could give direction to our effort.

regards
Abhishek
