The Meet took place in the Maths Department of IIT Delhi. About 14
people attended.

Though the meet was scheduled for 2pm, we started at 3pm due to people
arriving late and logistic miscalculations.

After introductions and signing the register, Ananth Raman presented
an interesting view at the FLOSS (Free/Libre and Open Source Software)
development model from the point of view of disruptive technologies.
The session generated a lot of debate and question-answers. One
interesting question related to how purveyors of current technology
could handle disruptive technologies, and the consensus answer
appeared to be that they can't.

Leo Fernandez then took the floor and talked about software as
knowledge. Leo pointed out that the basis of software development
using a product development paradigm is flawed and needs to be
reconsidered. Leo also questioned the meaning of the term `computer
literacy'. More debate followed.

Prof Wagish Shukla of IIT Maths Department, who is the author of two
books that use Devnagari, Sanskrit, Arabic and English and which have
been completely set in TeX, did a short presentation on using TeX for
Devnagari, Sanskrit and Arabic. We hope that he will give a longer
presentation at the next meet. Prof Shukla also outlined some
problems that he is having with using the three language packages
simultaneously and hoped that ILUG-Delhi would be able to help him
find a solution.

Prof Shukla told us about a new bilingual magazine (LILA) that the
Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya is publishing.
LILA, which will be available under a free document license, is to be
launched shortly.

Abhishek informed about a new magazine called `Linux for You' which is
going to be launched shortly by the publishers of Electronics for
You. Abhishek also promised to talk to the publishers about making
the license of the magazine FDL. Wish him all the best in his
endeavours!

Collected Rs. 700 purely on a volunteer basis from participants.
Spent Rs. 400. Rs. 300 to go to Kishore.

Regards,
