Dear Sys Admins,

I need very urgent help regarding gcc, g++ compiler.

When I used $gcc  a.c or $g++  a.cpp (both file exists with simplest program of hello word) I got message:

Gcc: installation problem, cannot exec cpp0: No such file or directory (same with g++).

I try to re-install these packages but I got message that I need to remove

1.                                                      kernel source 2. gcc 3.g++. My machine contains some important software and I cannot take a chance to reinstall linux. Please tell me if I will remove kernel source or gcc then how it will affect my computer. I am using package Manager on Mandrake 8.2.

Please tell me what precaution should I take to install gcc correctly.

Thank

s.k.dubey
