Dear Friends,
Linux is an excellent platform, so say we; but a very large number of
people state lack of support as the biggest hurdle in use/migration
to Linux. This is exactly what Karnataka IT Sec told their govt in
support of M$.
I also know that most of the professional Li service providers have
some reservations about the way their business is doing; since their
aren't very many users (of commercial variety).
So this is a chicken and egg story. There aren't enough users because
prospective users cant find enough support on Li and will not risk
moving their businesses to a platform without known and visible
support; conversely, the Li service providers dont have roaring
businesses because there arent sufficient number of users.
I want to (atleast) let the user community know that that support on
Li is a reality (please do not mention support from this list, since
Win type users do not have the habit of this kind of support and this
list support is utilisable by techys, not business users/SMEs or
SOHO).
I want to know if any of you or your friends provide
commercial/non-commercial Linux based services either in personal
capacity or as an organisation. You may please pass on this mail to
your friends.
This database shall be used purely for letting prospective users know
that professional help is available just a phone call/email away.

Though I'll keep a copy (sorry, I am not too proficient in
programming. The DB will be on a spreadsheet), I'll request LFY to
publish it in pieces (and LFY also request service providers to send
in their details) and ilugd to publish on the website for the benefit
of prospective users and Li business community.
Best regards,
Atul
