Yesterday I upgraded my mysql from the redhat errata website for my
redhat8.0 box. I ran
rpm -Uvh mysql-xxx.rpm
I could upgrade all the mysql rpms.
Due to some reason I had to uninstall the latest version and get back to
older.
So I ran
rpm -e mysql-xxx
and IT HUNG....
I tried all but couldnot get through.
Finally I tried to reinstall RPM from tar ball.
It installed it. But I doesn't find anything.
rpm -qa
gives nothing.
I also tried rpm --initdb and rpm --rebuilddb
but no success.
How can I get my database information back, because I deleted everything
from /var/lib/rpm directory.
Any pointers ?
