First thing Mplayer has it clearly mentioned that it does not support
GCC 4.0 and still uses 2.95. They make it clear that if you want to
use some other compiler other than the one prescribed you are on your
own( and shouldn't be reporting bugs). 

I recommend you to go for rpm's on rpm.pbone.net or rpmfind.net.

Also the dependency problems you are having is not mentioned.
