If u have used rm -rf for deleting the files then sorry there is no way
out!
Pls. becareful while using rm always make sure that u have done a backup

Was just the account deleted or did you delete their homedirs as well?
If not you should be able to recover them from /home (or wherever on nfs
you mounted their homedirs)
