I too think that we need to explore IIIT lug as an option. One more idea I had is that we hold seminars in Engineering and MCA colleges educating them and encouraging them to join lugs. R-Knowsys is willing to provide some mentoring help based on the free time.
We think that fvoip - http://sourceforge.net/projects/fvoip will make a great student project due to its restricted scope, clear focus, having the 'cool' factor and it is reasonably mainstream to interest students. It will be great if we encourage students to contribute. R-Knowsys is looking to hire FOSS developers with some knowledge of Linux but is facing lack of skills at fresher level. These projects will help students gain practical knowledge as well as establishing their credentials when they are applying for jobs. Thoughts? --kc K. C.
