Sorry for the delay. Yes, we can't exactly recover the password of root
but can change the password without knowing the original one.
Step1 While booting up fedora at the time of selecting the OS's select the
fedora option.
Step2. Press 'e' to edit the option
Step3. Now we can see a list of options. One of the option will be of type.
Module /VMLinuz/.................... /LABEL =/rhgb quiet.
Step4. At the above option press 'e' to edit the option.
Step5. remove the 'quiet' at the end and write 'S' {Stands for Single User
mode].
Step6. press enter and type 'b' for boot.
Now it enters into single user mode and when u see the prompt .
type
#passwd root
to enter the new passwd.
Mail back if it works successfully.

May I request you all to help me out in recovering root password of FC 6
machine running web application with kernel Linux 2.6.18-1.2798. fc6xen.
Luckily the user access is being feasible with the same machine but not with
root access. Highly appreciate your valuable suggestion and timely help.
