Hi ,
(NT Virtual DOS Machine Emulator ) . The ntvdm.exe
process is used when you run DOS or 16-Bit software on
your windows pc. It will emulate the old DOS/16-bit os
to allow older programs to run. If you are running DOS
based (or 16-bit) programs on your computer, you
should leave this process running on a 32 bit OS . For
example , if you are using Turbo C 3.0 , which is
basically a 16 bit application , this process plays a
very important role and for that matter even the basic
command prompt . "ntvdm.exe" is flagged as a system
process and does not appear to be a security risk.
However, removing NT DOS Virtual Machine may adversly
impact your system. The Process Server database
currently registers ntvdm.exe to Microsoft. Never ever
try to end this process ! by killing it or in Windows
Terminology , " End Process Tree " and if you add this
flag in the boot.ini file of Windows this line / SOS ,
you can see that NTVDM.EXE is one of the first few
files that are added whe! n the OS boots up , let it
be any Windows platform .
This is part of Microsoft Windows (NT) and all the
latter versions that came based on NT Architecture
such as Windows 2000 Professional and XP and platforms
of Windows 2000 , viz Server , Datacenter , Advanced
DataCenter ones .
ntvdm.exe is related to cmd.exe, wing.dll, wing32.dll,
wjview.exe, awlhut32.dll, d3d8.dll, wow32.dll,
wowexec.exe, Please use google a lot and you will get
the answer yourself . Thats the way you do it . Learn
from google and if your problem is still not resolved
then post it , in the manner explained below .
