Overview:

This month we have Dr. Parthasarathy of Algologic Research and
Solutions giving a talk on "FOSS tools for mathematics" like Scilab,
GNU Octave, Maxima and R. He will also give a detailed talk about
Scilab that is a free equivalent to the very expensive Matlab. These
tools are very popular not just in the field of mathematics but also
in physics, astronomy, statistics and other sciences.
About the Author:
------------------
Dr. Parthasarathy is an aggressive supporter of the FOSS movement. He
is a contributor to the Linux Documentation Project (LDP). His
contribution has been translated into at least six foreign languages.
He has also been awarded the "IEEE Millenium Medal" for his
professional achievements.
This talk is mainly for students, researchers, teachers and designers.
But everyone is invited!!!
