Am facing a technical problem.
I have a collection of about 200+ DVDs and I am looking forward to store it in
digital media. All thought I would also like to preserve Video and Audio
quality.
I have the follow machines.
Dell Latitude D610, Intel Centrino 2Ghz, 2G RAM, IDE
20-40 fps.
Acer Aspire 4315, Intel Celeron 1.7 Ghz, 1.5 G RAM, IDE
20-40 fps.
AMD Athlon XP 3000+, 1.25 GB RAM, SATA
150-200 fps. (Over clocked)
I have used mencoder / acidrip (gui) in the past and I think I can work around
the quality part. However the exercise of encoding could take days / weeks if I
have such a huge volume.
I am looking for suggestions on how can I reduce the timeline and effort to
convert the same.
Any possibilities of using all the three machines at the same time? Will using
open mosix or any encoder which allows clustered encoding will also help.
Mencoder has a threads option while using lavc codec any thoughts on that?
