Hi, Don't know much about Fedora, but while installing Ubuntu Karrnic, I came to understand Alsa has been replaced with PulseAudio. In my system, I have PulseAudio Volume Control, PulseAudio Equalizer, and PulseAudio Device Chooser under Applications --> Sound & Video. I specially like the PulseAudio Equalizer, can tailor the quality of the sound output to fit the speakers and the mood.
Maybe exploring PulseAudio will help ?
