Thanks Shakthi and Pavi for responding. While a couple of queries have been
addressed, I still cannot understand the reason for Sugar's development at this
stage. As per the Sugar labs website, the USP of Sugar is extensibility. I am
not sure what they mean by extensibility (haven't got to explore more of Sugar
off late). Are they referring to developer side extensibility or user side
extensibility?

Here are a couple of videos of Meego, an interesting project that I assume is
an alternative to Sugar. Meego is designed to work on a wide variety of devices
(some of which are low powered devices).
