Dear Shinjo, Hitoshi.

A simple way to convert a map with consecutive points into a segment map
with one or more segments connecting these points is the following:

Export your pointmap to the ILWIS 1.4 format and get a *.pnt ascii file.

Replace in this text file the first line: X! Y! Name$ ....
by the the text: Segments

Put in the next 2 lines the lower and upper limits of your new segment
map:
 minX minY
 maxX maxY

Put as a line before the coordiate list, the name of your new segment.
Insert other segment names if you want more segments in the segment map

Save the edited text file as a *.smt file

Hint:
To see an example of the text-format of an *.smt file, you can simply
export a segment map to *.smt ascii format and look into it.

good luck!
