Stefano:

thankyou for your advise.  If you want to cut your map with a boundary, first you have to make a poligon and then rasterize it in order to be able to cross both raster maps with a command if

Hi list,
the answer to my old question concerning importing points  was just an autocad problem, not an ILWIS inadequacy. I obtained the original file without blocks to explode, and in about 2-3 seconds I imported all the points with their related Z coordinate. No other operations to have points suitable for the DEM. Rocio, if you have to import points, upgrade to 3.0! After that I built the DEM in about 15 minutes, ILWIS 3 seems to be really faster than the 2.x one. Now  a new question: to have a "nice" DEM I must digitize contours and points up to a square (rectangle) boundary or is it possible to cut the DEM along, e.g., a geographic irregular boundary without a visible flat frame? there is a way or a trick?
Thanks in advance for any idea
