Hi Rocio
I don’t know if I understood your problem, anyway I try to give you a
suggestion.
When you import in Ilwis a georeferenced map from ArcView, you can only
see the coordinate of this map in X,Y coordinate system. To give the
right coordinate system to this map you can create a “coordinate system
projection” in which you can select a projection, an ellipsoid and a
datum. Then you have to select the properties of the map and give this
new cordinate system to it. When you open the map you will see, in your
case, the UTM and geographic coordinate as well. I mean that you don’t
need to transform from UTM to geographic coordinate, because you can
have both at the same time.

rt elevation isolines from ARC/View into Ilwis 2.2. Inside ilwis I trans
formed them from UTM projection to geographic coordinate. The file cover
s an small area so, in order to rasterize it I have to create a georrefe
rence but I cant set the pixel size adequately. I think the problem is
because although I made the transformation (UTM/LATLON) when I measure
distance in the map the result is minimum (0.06 m) when actually it is 5
km length; I dont understand why I cant mesure distances correctly.
