Gary sez:

As you can see, mostly poppy stuff, and that is where my
head is at these days.
I sez:

Major me-too post.

I'm currently working my way through the NUGGETS and NUGGETS II box sets. Man oh man, lots of gems to be found there. NUGGETS II, which is mostly British bands (including The Move), has the edge so far. "Making Time" by The Creation has that irresistible monster riff....it's everything you ever loved about Cheap Trick condensed into a single cut. I can listen to stuff like that all day. "Live" by the Merry-Go-Round is another killer cut (the Bangles always had great taste in covers, huh?).

White Stripes - De Stijl
(any band hip enough to cover both "Death Letter" by Son House and "Stop Breaking Down" by Robert Johnson is clearly after my heart. And both versions *kill*).

Others in current rotation:

Emitt Rhodes - Daisy-fresh from Hawthorne CA (The Best of the Dunhill Years)
The Creation - Vol.2: Biff Bang Pow!
Bert Jansch - Jack Orion
Pentangle - Light Flight: The Anthology
Airport 5 - Life Starts Here (Guided By Voices side project)
Go Back Snowball - Calling Zero (GbV/Superchunk side project)
John & Steve Hackett - Sketches of Satie
Love - Forever Changes (remaster)
Lightnin' Hopkins - Lightnin' And The Blues: The Herald Sessions
Howlin' Wolf - His Best
John Fahey - Vol. 4: The Great San Bernardino Birthday Party

Looking forward to the next installment of Dylan's Bootleg Series, which comes out Tuesday (Live 75: The Rolling Thunder Revue).
