After installing Conflict Catcher and running the test I found the
culprit to be "Protection Extension" from Tech Tool Pro. I tried to
install an old copy of TTP a couple of weeks ago and it wouldn't work
with 9.1 and thought I had trashed all its parts. Always be leery of
things titled "protection". Thanks everybody. I'm sure I'll be back. Barry
