You are absolutely right...I never used to be much of a camera enthusiast before getting a digital camera. At Christmas, I took dozens of pictures....many shots I never would have taken otherwise for fear of wasting film or simply just not having enough film left on a roll to snap pictures as I wanted/ It is lots of fun to use these cameras. There are many sites on the web that you upload your pictures too, set up on-line photo albums immediately so that friends and family can see them seconds after they are taken instead of waiting for the film to be developed, picked up, mailed etc. I like paying only for prints that I want instead of having to pay for 10 prints of 24 which may have somebody with their eyes closed or looking off just as you snap the picture. With iPhoto, you can set up slideshows of your photos, add music whatever....much more fun than your grandparents old slide shows that were boring and seemed so .....dull. With iMovie, you can easily take the photos you just took and make them into short movie like clips and have shots fade in and out into each other. I am sure others could come up with other uses for the digital cameras. The inital outlay is a bit expensive but it is well worth it.
