Cecil,

Two days ago, I would have said buy the older one -- price is great,
they are good computers, you'll be happy.

Then I got our new one for the wife.

Have you driven a toyota camry? Nice car. Comfortable, solid,
responsive, pretty. Am willing to take side roads to avoid stalled
traffic. old iMac.

Have you driven a BWM? NICE car, very comfortable, solid, effortless
to drive, great to look at -- am hopeful to hear about stalled
traffic so I might go 90 miles out of my way toward my destination --
and when I arrive, I'm not sure I want to get out of the car. new
iMac.

This box rocks. Every piece of it is absolutely what a computer
should be. I felt that way about the cube. I look at this screen
and wonder why the hell I ever liked CRTs. I listen to those
speakers and wonder why I'd want something built-in. I open word or
filemaker or photoshop and it's just there -- sweet. I play in OS X
and know I'll be really ready for it when it is ready for me.

Just an opinion, mind you.
