If it's just dry stuff like, crumbs & cat hair... you could just
pop the keys off and use a vacuum cleaner, with a small dry paint
brush to dislodge stuff that may be a little sticky.

No sarcasm intended. But, this very subject went around on the
vintage.macs list a couple of weeks ago. And, yes. A few folks did
put their keyboards, even whole computers in the dishwasher with good
success... Use low temperature, air dry settings & not a whole lot of
detergent. In fact, it may be good to run it a second time with no
detergent at all, just to make sure there's no residue left behind.
