Hi Amber;

I'm not sure what your clicking noise sounds like, however just a few months
after I purchased my iMac it began making making a clicking type noise, also
the light in the power button would flicker on and off at a very fast rate.
The strange part was it did not happen all the time, only once in a while,
all told I'd say it happened at least 10 times. I trashed the energy saver
prefs and then called the nice folks at apple, who told me this was the
first complaint about this type of problem; along with the energy saver
prefs they wanted me to do a clean install of my system folder, and if that
did not work they wanted me to take to an apple authorized service center
for repair! I was to lazy to do a clean install; however trashing the energy
saver preference file seemed to work, its only happened once since the
problem started over one year ago! About six weeks ago I did a clean install
and it hasn't occurred yet. I hope this is some help to you, I bought mine
in February of 2001, when did you get yours?

Good luck

Mike
