I have a DV 400 (grape?) G3 upgraded with 512 M ram and a 5200 RPM 40 G hard drive. It runs OS X almost as fast as OS 9.22 and I think Internet explorer actually runs faster in X. I have not tried many other applications as I still usually boot to 9.X.
