Hello,
Don't worry about it. Mine broke a long time ago. Just stick the
memory chip in there. Put the metal cover over it and that should do it.
The chip will stay in place and work fine. I never had any problems with
the iMac recognizing the ram. Just make sure the chip is properly seated.
