But if you can boot from it it means you can use that System Folder too. First make sure you are booted into OS 9.2.2.The best thing to do then is inserting that CD, drag it into Toast, select Save As Disc Image from the File menu. Then double click that image so that it mounts on the desktop. Then make sure there's some space free on that image and update TTP on that image to 3.0.6. Then open that version and enter your serial number. Then quit it and open the System Folder/Preferences from your *HD* and copy the 'TechTool Pro Prefs' to the Preferences folder of the System Folder of the image. That way you have your legally copy of TTP 3.0.6 on that image. Then drag the *mounted* image into the trash so that is saves the info, the actually image will still remain on your HD. Then double click that image and burn it with Toast. If you read the TTP FAQ then you'll see that you can also get the latest TTP CD from Micromat for a small fee if you own a copy already like you have. See http://www.micromat.com/product_faqs/main_product_faqs.html#ttp3top. There are some more FAQs, also one for how to create a bootable CD. Have you also read the Toast 5 FAQ: http://www.roxio.com/en/products/toast/faqs.jhtml. However I can't find that part anymore about booting into OS9 to burn a bootable CD, but Tinman discovered that he actually had to boot into 9 to burn a bootable CD.
