Yes, but you shouldn't really need to and indeed that may not even solve 
your problem. You probably just have an extensions conflict and/or 
corruption of extension(s). Boot with the shift key down, for "Extensions 
Off" and see if it boots... if so, it's probably just an extensions 
problem. Then, you can use the Extensions Manager (an OS 9 control panel) 
to weasel out the bad egg. If you hit the Mac Help button (the question 
mark) in the Extensions Manager, you'll get a list of relevant articles... 
the important one is "Resolving System Extension Conflicts".
