I do not have the Office V manual, but I do have the "Missing Manual" for OS X. I've closely compared it to several other OS X books, and I must say it was the most thorough, and covers everything I can see pertinent, from the beginning user to the more savvy user. They are also extremely good at picking up on any errors and posting them to their website. Recently, I had a major issue to deal with and discovered that of the most popular OS X books out there, the Missing Manual was the only one that had any information whatsoever about kernel panic and what to do if you encounter this. That was pretty frightening to me to consider that someone new to computing might encounter this, and not even be able to get any idea whatsoever how to handle this if they'd purchased one of the other books on the market. Based on this experience with the OS X books, I would feel comfortable recommending the "Missing Manual" book for Office V.

I'll probably have to order one sight unseen without the benefit of browsing through the various (at least 3?) options out there. The "Dummies" series is sometimes too superficial and i'm not sure whether the "Missing Manual" is the best choice. I'm sure I'll be able to weigh the opinions on Amazon.com, but thought someone's experience would be helpful. Any opinions? I'm not a convert from the Windows version of Office, so I'll need a thorough but detailed instruction book that can help get me up to speed for graduate classes. >> ------------------------------ Michelle K.
