Hi Larry, I just ran into an issue with this at the Apple online store. Their policy too is "all sales final". I bought a firewire CD Burner from them. 2 day shipping was only $5. It arrived DOA. I called to return it, and was told that I had to deal with the manufacturer. I said that I just received it and just wanted one that worked. I was told again that I had to deal with the manufacturer. I was told the same thing by a manager after asking to speak with him.
I spoke with the manufacturer and they said it was a bad drive, they would send a new one out AFTER I returned the bad drive. I returned it and they shipped a new drive back to me via UPS ground. Overall it took about 2.5 weeks to get the drive that works. I admit that in the pages upon pages of fine print at the Apple Store site it says that defective items of non apple branded items will have to be dealt with directly through the manufacturer. I didn't read it at the time. I knew I should have, but I didn't. So it is my own fault. But then again I never really expected it to be defective in the first place. I will not buy anything from the Apple online store again. Nor will I buy anything from any store that has a similar return policy in the future. Good luck. take care, Kevin Avery On Thursday, June 27, 2002, at 03:47 PM, Lawrence Klinger wrote: > I'm about to make a purchase, but noticed when checking > Mac Mall vs Mac Warehouse how very different > their return policies are if you have a problem. > > At Mac Mall, it's "All Sales are Final!"
