erm.......... is this a burned CD or a commercial CD? If it's a commercial CD, it should say the version on the disk somewhere. OS X Server 10.x and above don't work in conjunction with OS 8.x at all. That sounds like OS X Server 1.0. You don't want to run that even if your machine will.
