No, but you should be able to fix this by going into the Monitors Control
Panel and select Geometry. From there you can adjust the screen and even
make it fill the viewing space.

Om my 500MHz ice Book, Apple shipped it with both OS's on the same
partition. I like to think if its good enough for Apple, its good enough for
me. Opinions vary on this. As you'll soon find out.
And yes I would upgrade as possible.
