You might want to check in DropIcon's preference settings, I'm only familiar with the OS 9 version, but in it I know there is an option to have it actually change toe format of graphic files. It may be trying, and failing, to change your images to a different format. If that's not the problem, you could also try deleting the DropIcon preference file (careful... doing this may turn it back to nagware, make sure you have your registration code saved somewhere if you've paid the shareware fee.) Might also be worth trying to uninstall DropIcon and download and install a fresh copy.
