The 165c doesn't have an ethernet port. But it does have a SCSI port. You can get a SCSI to Ethernet adapter. Asante used to make these, I think they were called EN/SC or something like that. You might find one on eBay. Then you can use the cat5 cable to connect the two. You might need a crossover cable instead of a straight through cable though, that or a hub and two straight cables WILL work. Oh yeah, you'll need a HDI-30 to 25 pin SCSI converter along with a 25 pin to 25 pin SCSI cable to get the right SCSI connection into the SCSI/Ethernet adapter. You could also try to connect the two modems together, if you have a modem in the 165c. Here is info: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=22229 Not many people have had luck with that, and it's VERY slow to transfer. The appletalk way would be faster than the modem, but still a lot slower than ethernet. There you would need to get a USB to localtalk adapter, but I've never heard of one of those. The USB to serial adapters that I know of explicitly don't support localtalk. -Dave -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
