what is it with these iMacs??? I also have an intermittent problem -
my internal slot loading cd-rom hasn't worked for the last 12 months
or so, but a few days ago it made noises! yikes! i stuck a cd in and
it sometimes mounts the cd, when it doesn't it's almost like the
drive is running in slow motion (not enough power of something)

Can anyone tell me what the flyback transformer is and what it does?
Are there any websites anyone knows about I can research up a bit and
try to get my poor iMac working properly again?

thanks again
Kath
